     Emily White is a homeschooling mother of three children, married to the wonderful man she met during her deployment in Iraq. As a former student of St. Peter, she has always felt a deep love and interest in its school and church, seconded closely by her passion for writing and education. She has worked as an editor for two publishing companies, as well as award-winning authors, and is, herself, the author of four published works, two of which achieved Amazon International Bestseller Status. 

     Since beginning her homeschooling journey, Emily's focus has been directed towards the classical education of her sons and daughter, understanding that the greatest thing a person can do in life is raise Godly children and make the next generation better than the one before it. 
 

     Willow Moran is a wife and a homeschool mother of three boys. She has been homeschooling since 2005 and has been involved with St. Peter’s Educational Resource Center since the year of its inception, primarily as a math teacher and tutor.  She also attended St. Peter Lutheran School as a child, and it holds a special place in her heart.  

     Willow received her B.S. in Mathematics and her M.S. in Mathematics Education at SUNY college at Buffalo State, where she graduated summa cum laude. She has served as Director of Christian Education at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lockport for five years.  

     She enjoys teaching and loves sharing her passion for mathematics and for God’s Word. She sees tremendous value in a Christian classical education, and is excited to be a part of all that God is doing at St. Peter’s Educational Resource Center.

Susan Knowles

Omnibus, First Form Latin, and Shurley English Grammar (Grammar II)

     Susan Knowles has earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Concordia College in Bronxville, NY (Grades N-9 w/ Science Concentration-1992) and a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Catharines, Ontario (2019).  Susan has been blessed to teach in schools in a variety of classroom settings in Tennessee and New York with students in preschool through 8th grade, as well as classes for homeschoolers of all ages.  She loves classical approaches to instruction which engage the students in hands-on learning and require deeper thinking skills.  Susan also serves as a Christian Reconciler and a Licensed Presenter, trained through Ambassadors of Reconciliation (aorhope.org).  Susan and her husband enjoy serving with their children at Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center in Angola, NY (pioneercamp.org) where her husband serves as Executive Director. This fall will begin their 20th year of homeschooling with the two youngest of their four children. 

Judy Dickinson

     Judy Dickinson is the mother of three and the grandmother of nine. She was employed by St. Peter Lutheran School as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and as an art teacher. She has directed numerous Vacation Bible Schools, and is currently serving as Sunday School Superintendent at Concordia Lutheran Church. She has written several Christmas programs, as well as a VBS program. She is the recipient of the "Authors' Circle Children's Book of the Year Award." She has taught several classes at Petros Academy and the ERC.

Jonni Hannam

     Jonni Hannam is a homeschool mother of 2 daughters. She earned a BA in English from Buffalo State in 1996. She became a part of the Educational Resource Center to share her love of language and literature through Shakespeare Club, where she encourages students with a relaxed and fun approach to his plays. Jonni has taught Sunday school for many years and is an Elder at her church. In addition to her love of literature, Jonni has a heart for Biblical peacemaking and is a certified conflict coach and mediator through Ambassadors of Reconciliation.

     Jennifer Wisto is a wife and mom of 6 who has been privileged to be able to homeschool her kids through many seasons (and several states!) She has enjoyed learning alongside her sons, and looks forward to another year of study! Jennifer and her family live in Youngstown.

Nancy Neivert

     Nancy Neivert is a graduate of Wilson Central School, State University at Fredonia (BA in Education), and Niagara University (MS in Eduation). Her teaching experience includes substituting in Grades K-6, over 30 years teaching Grades 4 and 5 in the Wilson District, and 6 years instructing homeschoolers at the Educational Resource Center. As a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, she serves on the Board of Christian Education, and is a member of the Altar Guild, Ladies Aid, and LWML.

     Laura Scarisbrick has been homeschooling her 3 daughters since 2011. Since graduating from Niagara University (BA in English), she has taught English in Germany, worked as a project assistant at SUNY Buffalo, and sings and plays various instruments in local bands.

     Laura has always enjoyed sports and athletics, playing volleyball and tennis in high school, tennis and rugby at the college level, and participating in the local running community, recently completing 5ks, half marathons and a 50k trail run. She is looking forward to the chance to train and inspire students at Petros Academy in a wide range of physical activity.

     Since receiving a mathematics award at high school graduation, Laura has enjoyed helping others with math, including volunteering at the local high school during college. She is currently studying calculus for fun.

Bruce Neivert

Chess Club

     Bruce Neivert is a graduate of Ashland University, with a BS degree in Elementary Education and Reading, and earned a Master's Degree in Education from Niagara University. He retired from teaching after 31 years of service, 25 of those years were spent working for the Lyndonville Central School system. Mr. Neivert enjoys chess because it challenges the critical thinking skills.

Sandra Lewis

Instrumental Lessons, Chorus, Vocal Adventures, Daring Drama, and Core Strength & Stretch

     Sandra Lewis has been in the performing arts for many years, working on a professional level in opera, musical theater, Shakespeare, and plays. She received a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from the University of Buffalo, with a major in voice and theater, and a minor in dance and piano. She has performed in various states, but has settled in the WNY area where she has performed with various companies, such as The Buffalo Opera Company, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, The Kavinoky Theater, Summerfare, Artpark, and Wondermakers Children's Theater. She has taught music and/or acting at Studio Arena, Shakespeare in the Park, The Kenan Center, etc., and currently teaches music, theater, and dance for regional co-ops, as well as teaching private voice and piano lessons.

Lacey Bahr

     Lacey Bahr is a former homeschool student who received her certification as a Director of Christian Education from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon and simultaneously earned a minor in Chemistry. She currently serves at Grace Lutheran Church, where her husband is the pastor, and spends her days raising their three adventurous boys.

     Christine Woods has a degree in Industrial Engineering from SUNY Buffalo. She worked in the engineering field for 11 years and then made the decision to homeschool her daughter and have been homeschooling for 10 years now. Photography has been a hobby of hers for over 15 years and 8 years ago she started her custom on location portrait business 'Family Fun Photography'. Christine has taught various classes at St. Peters ERC over the years and has also taught Sunday School at their Church, Forestview Church of God.

This program is a violence prevention, character development course promoting awareness, self-discipline, respect for others, community building and Asset-Building. Master Wood’s background in the Martial Arts and his desire to reach as many of our youth as possible has been the driving force behind The Defend And Survive Program, Inc. that has been Nationally recognized. The Defend And Survive Program, Inc. was mandatory for 6th and  7th Grade middle school students in several districts of Western New York.

  • New York State Senator Mary Lou Rath introduced a resolution on Wood's behalf in Albany, NY.  The resolution was passed by the state for his standard of excellence in all his endeavors and his community involvement in July 2004.

  • Master Wood has organized, promoted, and run Kick-A-Thon fundraisers for such organizations as The Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Kick Drugs Out Of America Program  (Jump Start), The American Red Cross, and The Defend And Survive Program, Inc. raising thousands of dollars for these organizations through his efforts.
